When it comes to SEO its all about LINKS, LINKS and more LINKS! But a question I often see is how do I get these links? Well the following is an easy way to get relevant, one-way links that do not break any search engine guidelines.

Forum Signatures. Well duh I hear you cry. They don’t even work because most forums have no-follow tags that don’t provide any search engine benefits. Well of course I know that but I have included a list of forums that will allow search engines to follow your link and improve your SEO and marketing efforts dramatically when done right.But before I get there here are a few helpful hints on how to write a good signature that will bring you maximum benefits.

Include your keywords especially in the anchor text.
Keep it as short as possible so that your keywords carry more value.
Make sure it makes sense and that it markets your site favorably for extra visitors. So instead of just “web design” make another short and simple signature, which provides something to the forum members. “XYZ - Australian web design company” is short has a few more keywords and gives character to the site.
I have bolded this one for emphasis. Your signature will appear every time you comment. Nothing will make your site look worse than spam comments just to have your signature viewed. Write useful, helpful, truthful, comments.
Where possible add your signature to relevant forums that have the same topic as yours. These signatures will carry a lot more weight.
Lastly don’t overdo it. Recent changes in search engine algorithms suggest they are punishing keyword bombing. So have a few different anchor text and don’t comment more than 30 times a week and you should have no problems. So once you have that down here is a list of forums to start creating some easy, targeted, one-way links.
